Philips gives Mekoprint a green smiley

The radical inspection lasted two whole days for 3 men - the result was a green smiley.

Before being approved as a main supplier Philips Medical must ensure that Mekoprint is a healthy company in every possible way before placing their orders. Philips made their inspection very thoroughly. Two auditors and a strategic buyer were visiting Mekoprint for two days and they went carefully over Mekoprint. It was a radical inspection which included everything from the overall management, quality management and supply chain management to the production. In short, all the processes were audited.

Good friends

For Key Account Manager Claus K. Olesen the inspection has been a good experience. Internally Mekoprint had decided to deliver an even better service to their major customers. We were ready even though Philips is a customer with huge demands. He says:

It is clear that if we provide key products for a customer like Philips, we have to stay on track. We haven´t been nervous - I don´t think we have something to hide, on the contrary. But it is a special experience to have such a thorough going-over. I must say that they were very thorough. However, good friends are supposed to know each other well. Of course it is tough to be criticized, but it doesn´t matter as long as it is constructive. We always have space for improvement at Mekoprint – and we continue working forward with good advices.

A fun session

After two days with a complete business regulatory review, Philips held a presentation of the result. Everybody with daily contact with Philips were invited - and of course also the management. Fortunately Philips impression of Mekoprint was really positive. The inspection led to a major report which goes down to the last details, but in spite of - or perhaps because of - the thorough work the result was a green smiley.

An obligation

Besides their own standard Mekoprint also work according to Philips standards. This means that all items which Mekoprint buys and produces must correspond with the code-of-conduct, which ensures that everything fulfill the certain sustainability principles and accountability requirements.

Karsten Ries, Division Manager at Mekoprint adds:

Concerning development we must be at the forefront, but also perform on the logistics, quality and commercial plan. We had a pretty good idea that we were ready for a strategic cooperation with Philips - now we know for sure. We have a good strategic partner in Philips, we have set common goals - and we look forward to work with them in future.
